Until further notice, Tournament Organisers/Members and Continental Confederations hosting tournaments are not allowed to accept entries from the following Members and/or individuals, for any BWF sanctioned tournament.
1. Non-Financial Members – unpaid subscription for 2024
- Africa – Burundi, Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Eswatini, Guinea, Malawi, Sierre Leone, St Helena, Tanzania.
- Asia – Turkmenistan.
- Pan America – Dominican Republic, French Guiana.
- Europe – Moldova, Montenegro, Russia.
This list will be progressively updated when the BWF receives the subscriptions due for each Member for 2024.
2. Member Associations – Withdrawal and Other Penalty Fees / Suspension

3. Individuals – Disciplinary Action
The BWF Disciplinary Panels rule on alleged breaches of the BWF Statutes and have the power to impose suspensions.

4. Barred Player Policy
This policy has been put in place, in part, to assist Tournament Organisers and Members to receive withdrawal fees which are due to them. The policy details the procedures that are followed 1) when a badminton / Para badminton player is suspended, 2) when a Member or Para-sports organisation is barred from entering players into BWF sanctioned competitions, 3) and when a BWF Member is suspended.
If a BWF Member, who is responsible for both badminton / Para badminton entries is suspended or barred from entering players, entries for both badminton / Para badminton players will be affected.
The procedures are as follows for badminton:
- The name of the Member will be published on the BWF corporate website;
- The ability to enter players by the respective Member will be disabled;
- Any individually barred player(s) will be removed from the BWF World Ranking system;
- Tournament organisers /Member and Continental Confederations hosting tournaments will be asked not to enter these players in tournaments until further notice;
- Any barred players – either through a Member who does not have the right to enter players (due to not paying fees or subscription or is under suspension) or individually barred players – who have been entered into a tournament and the draw has already been completed and published will be allowed to continue to play, however no world ranking points will be awarded for that tournament until the outstanding fees have been paid;
- Any player who has entered a tournament and is on the M & Q Report (main and qualifying report) and before the draw is completed – will be removed from the M & Q Report and be prevented from entering the draw; and
- Any player whose under a period of ineligibility shall be withdrawn from a tournament at any time.
For Para badminton Players
- The name of the Member / Para-sports organisation recognised by BWF for entering Para badminton players will be published on the BWF corporate website;
- The ability to enter Para badminton players by the respective Member / recognised organisation will be disabled;
- Any individually barred player(s) will be removed from the BWF World Ranking system;
- Tournament organisers /Member / recognised Para-sports organisations and Continental Confederations hosting tournaments will be asked not to enter these players in tournaments until further notice;
- Any barred Para badminton players – (either through a Member / recognised organisation who does not have the right to enter players or individually barred players) – who have already entered into a Para badminton tournament and the entry deadline has passed will be allowed to continue to play, however no world ranking points will be awarded for that tournament until the outstanding fees have been paid or any suspensions lifted;
- Any Para badminton player who has been suspended for integrity offences (anti-doping / anti-match manipulation) may be withdrawn from a tournament at any time.
- Any Para badminton player whose under a period of ineligibility shall be withdrawn from a tournament at any time.
