BWF AGM 2024 – Travel Support Grant

Further to our Notice on Friday 19 January (linked here), please find attached the travel support grant for each Member Association and some information about the travel grant.

As you know, the BWF Annual General Meeting 2024, is being held on Saturday 27 April 2024 in Chengdu, China, alongside the TotalEnergies BWF Thomas and Uber Cup Finals – see below for more details.

Please also find enclosed the Delegates Nomination Form and the Visa Application Form – completed and sent to Patricia [email protected] no later than 23 February.

The AGM page of the BWF website will be updated regularly as plans are announced.

1.Travel Support Grant – AGM 2024

Each Member in “good standing” will receive a travel support grant for one (1) delegate.

• Attached is the amount of the travel support grant for each Member Association.
• This travel support grant may not cover 100% of your airfare and travel costs, but this will help you to cover most travel costs for your Voting Delegate.
• The delegate must attend both the BWF Members’ Forum and BWF AGM to be eligible to receive the grant.
• The grant is paid to Member Associations within 10 days after the AGM.

Further to the travel support grant, BWF will reimburse each Member in Good Standing, 3 nights accommodation at the official hotel provided the voting delegate attends the Members’ Forum and AGM 2024.

If your voting delegate also attends your Continental Confederation AGM being hosted in Chengdu, then BWF will also reimburse a 4^th night at the hotel for th4e voting delegate.

Accommodation – each Member must book and pay for accommodation at the official hotel in advance (the details will follow in by 20 February).

Continental Confederation (CCs) AGMs – some CCs will have their 2024 AGMs in Chengdu on Thursday 25 April.

We understand that Badminton Africa, Badminton Asia, Badminton Oceania and Badminton Pan Am will have their AGMs in Chengdu – however, please check with your CC before you make a booking – flights / accommodation.

2.  Key Dates – Towards the AGM 2024

– Friday 5 January – Deadline for proposals.

– Wednesday 31 Jan – Subscriptions 2024 due.

– Friday 8 March – Notice of the AGM / agenda.

– Friday 22 March – Deadline for amendments.

– Thursday 25 April – Welcome Dinner

– Friday 26 April – BWF Members’ Forum 2024

– Saturday 27 April – 85^th BWF AGM

3.  Your Tasks – Get Ready

• Decide who your delegate (s) will be.
• Ask your delegate to check their expiry date of their passport – they will need at least 6 months validity from the date of travel.
• Complete the Delegate Nomination Form and send to Patricia [email protected] no later than Friday 23 February.
• Complete the Visa Support Form and send the completed form AND a copy of the main page of the passports of people seeking a visa for China to Patricia [email protected] no later than Friday 23 February.
• Check early for flight options for your delegate. Transport will be provided from these airports to the Holiday Inn and back to the airport: Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) & Tianfu International Airport (TFU)
• Check whether your Continental Confederation will host its AGM in Chengdu on Thursday 25 April (the day before the Members’ Forum). Then you know which days to check in / check out of the official BWF host hotel.
• Once you have booked you flights you will need to tell us your flight arrival time / departure time and flight number. We will send an arrival / departure form to complete in March.
