“i am badminton” is BWF’s global integrity campaign which was unveiled at the 2015 BWF World Junior Championships.
Players are at the centre of this campaign because they have the right to compete in clean and fair sport.
The Pan Am Para badminton Championships 2022 in Cali, Colombia – was an important opportunity to showcase the integrity campaign and raise awareness amongst participating athletes and technical officials from all over Pan Am.
BWF, together with the hosts of the HULIC DAIHATSU BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2022, organise “i am badminton” activities. An iZone (Integrity Awareness and Activity Zone) was held at the competition hall.
BWF organise “i am badminton” activities in BWF World Junior Championships 2022 in Santander, Spain.
The activities aim to build integrity awareness (anti-doping / anti-match manipulation). Integrity survey was available at the iZone – this is available in 23 languages. This survey will help raise awareness on anti-doping and anti-match manipulation.
BWF organise “i am badminton” activities in BWF World Junior Championships 2019 in Kazan. The aim create awareness among players, coaches and entourage on anti-doping and match fixing as well as the importance of it.
In 2018, BWF promote clean and fair sport through its “i am badminton” integrity awareness campaign.
All athletes have a right to compete in clean and fair sport, and our role, together with our Member Associations, is to ensure that athletes and the entourage have strong sports values to make good choices throughout their careers.
BWF, together with the hosts of the BWF World Junior Championships, organise “i am badminton” activities for players at each championships. These activities aim to teach players about good sports values and to education them in key elements of the anti-doping and anti-match fixing programmes.
BWF encourages its members and Continental Confederations to plan and implement structured activities to raise awareness through the “i am badminton” campaign activities. Badminton Oceania delivered education sessions and a campaign to frame “clean” and “honest” athletes, officials and coaches at the Oceania Championships 2017.
The Pan Am Para badminton Championships 2016 was an important opportunity to showcase the integrity campaign and raise awareness amongst participating athletes and technical officials from all over Pan Am.
The Asian Para badminton Championships 2016 hosted in Beijing was a perfect opportunity to showcase key activities in their iZone. Para badminton athletes from all over Asia competed and got involved in the awareness activities on offer.
In 2015, BWF rolled-out the ‘i am badminton’ integrity campaign to our athletes, both elite and juniors. This awareness raising programme champions badminton as a clean, fair and honourable sport and addresses various threats such as doping, match fixing, illegal betting and corruption.
